Magnet Schools and Neighborhood Schools

Teachers who work in "Neighborhood" Schools should
make more money than those who work in "Magnet"
Schools.  With selective enrollment, Magnet Schools get
to pick and choose the students whom they want in their
school.  Where do you think students who are not selected
for a Magnet School go???  You guessed it a
Neighborhood School.  Let me break it down like
this....What school would you want your child to attend:
Crane (where one student was killed, while another was
beatin' with a golf club, or Walter Payton, where 100%
of graduating seniors go on to college.  We'll call it
Combat Pay.

Teaching Summer School in the City

Somebody asked me if I were going to teach summer
school, and as bad as I need the money, I told them that
no amount of money can buy a peace of mind.  Don't get
me wrong, there are many wonderful children who really
would benefit from a strong male role model.  But they
are too easily overshadowed by those that really need a
swift kick in the ass.
