For a course making its 79th birthday next year, Glenwoodie is in excellent shape. Complete with driving, and chipping range with an enormous putting green. Glenwoodie has all your practice needs. The clubhouse is large enough to accomodate a nice sized outing, The course has hundreds of large oak trees, to make par you must be straight. The greens are some of the toughest in the Chicago area. This course also holds perhaps one of the most challenging holes in the Chicago area as well which is hole number 16. This is a 460 yard par 4. Your tee shot must be long and straight, and must be hit far enough to the right to give you a shot at the green. If you go to far right there is a bunker plus some trees. If you go to far left other trees will eat you up. If you slice badly then you are OB. But lets say you hit a nice 250 yard tee shot. Then you still have a 200 yard shot to the green. The green is protected well with huge oak trees, and a severe uphill slope. If your ball does not land on the green then you are not reaching it if you are short. If you don't hit it high enough then you can roll off into the woods in the back. Par on this hole will win you a skin. Don't even think about a birdie.
