Look for one of the many coupons on their website or in newspaper. You want a challenge, play George Dunne!!!?? Not only is this course long, but there is trouble on every hole. The greens here are humongous, with water coming into play on about 10 or 11 holes. But if the water and the greens don't get you, then the OB will. Not only that but there are plenty sandtraps on every hole. On the par three 7th hole there are 7 bunkers guarding the green. Perhaps the most majestic hole on the course is the par 4 18th. This hole is about 400 yards, but because of a huge pond sitting right in the middle of the distance between the hole and the tee box, it makes it much longer. I have yet to see someone who can hit a ball far enough to cross this pond at its farthest point. Most people will have to play their tee shot off to the right, and have a 200 yard second shot to the green, which is guarded heavily by about 6 bunkers. OB in the form of large oak trees run along the entire right side of this hole, and bunkers run across the entire left side. There are many holes like this that require you to play what has commonly been referred to as "target golf". To make things a bit easier on you, there are 5 different levels of tees. So if you are not as skilled in the craft, you can pick your own starting point. The problem with George Dunne, is the pace of play. Because it is a Municipal Course they pack them in, and it is always crowded here. Rangers are on duty to move things along, but you will NOT play this course in 4 hours.
