| The Course At Aberdeen Address: 245 Tower Rd., Valparaiso, IN Phone: 219-462-5050 website: golfataberdeen.com Green Fee: A bit more than average on the weekend but excellent rates during the week. par 72 18 holes 7000 yards Slope 134 A good test of golfing ability. This course is long and crooked plenty of sand, doglegs, OB, slopes, changes in elevation, trees, and water. Also one of the most beautiful courses you are going to see. Bring a camera to this place because it is gorgeous. I almost "came" when I saw it. This is a first class course. As you drive into the course, just drop off your bag at the drop area, and the bagboys will load it onto the cart for you. This is one of the most challenging courses I have played. There are only one or two easy holes (without trouble). Bring some extra balls with you. The Course At Aberdeen is located kinda deep in Indiana from Chicago a good little ways down Route 30. But if you love golf I strongly recommend taking a trip out here. But make sure you have a couple of DJ Chuck Dog CD's for your trip to and fro. One of the many challenging holes is a par 5. I think it is like the 5th or 6th hole. Playing from the tips, your tee shot has to be straight because there is trees on both sides of the fairway that mark OB. Then about 230 yards into the fairway a gully of bushes or something is there. So you can't just whale away with the driver. Take your second shot and put it about 100 yards away from the green. Your approach shot is a simple one because I don't remember too much sand on this hole. The big challenge here is the tee shot. The Course At Aberdeen has great spring and fall rates. Also pretty good rates for weekday play. Weekends are costly. This is one of the top 10 courses I have played in the Chicago area.
