| Cinder Ridge Golf Course 24801 Lakepoint Dr., Wilmington, IL 815-476-4000 website: cinderridge.com Green Fee: Great price, one of the best values in the Chicagoland area. Par 72 18 holes 6800 yards Slope 130 If you are looking for a challenging golf course, then play Cinder Ridge. This is the most challenge course that I have ever played. There are no two adjacent fairways. Every hole is like its own individual course. Whatever your normal score is on a golf course add about 10 strokes to it at Cinder Ridge. This course is built on a coal mine or something like that. It is the first golf course I ever seen built around a trailor park too. I thought that was kinda funny. Anyway, the most memorable hole is a par 5 that is about 600 yards. It should be a par 6, because not only is it long, but it doglegs to the left. There are trees on both sides of the fairway, and a fence on the right side that marks OB. If you hit a 250 yard drive, then you must hit about a 175 yard second shot just to get a chance to make the dogleg. Your third shot is an approach uphill to a green that sits up so take an extra club. Plus the green is guarded by some bunkers. It seems like there is water on just about every hole. Just to give you an idea of how tough this course is, I once hit my ball in the bushes and went in to look for it. I came out with 14 balls, none of them were mine, but 8 were pro v 1's. All you golfers that think you got some game, take your ass out to Cinder Ridge. Its a drive, so make sure you have atleast 2 DJ Chuck Dog CD's to roll wit, but it is worth it. They also have plenty of parking, the people are nice, and they have a first class practice facility. The green fee is very reasonable too. The only drawback is the ride out there.
