2010 Chili Dip Open
Recap and Pics
The weather was great for the 2010 Chili Dip Open at Palmira Golf Course.  We had a field of 42 golfers, with
handicaps ranging from 4 to 26.  The back nine proved to be extremely challenging as almost every golfer posted
a lower front nine than back.  We even had 5 players to shoot in the 60's on the back alone.

Chuck Dogg - in sudden death playoff
Two players made shots from the fairway to split the $40 prize.  McDaddy McGrue, as he describes it, hit a beautiful
wedge from 90 yards on the par 5-12th for an eagle, and Mike the "Big Ride" chipped in for par on the par 4-6th.

There were only four golfers to post red numbers, as most handicaps held true to form.  Brad, Chuck Dogg, Doc, and
Cake.  Cake was looking like he was gonna be the 2nd Annual Chili Dip Champion until he put two balls in the water
on the par 3-18th.  If he walks away with a par on that hole he wins the tournament.  The Commishner Leaner had an
even better chance at capturing his first Chili Dip Open title as he teed off on the difficult par 5-17th with a three shot
lead at [-7], but a triple bogey on that hole followed by a quadruple bogey on the par 3-18th, dropped him all the way
down to even par.

So Chuck Dogg, Brad and Doc went back to 18 for a sudden death playoff hole.  Brad was first on the tee, and he
promptly hit a beautiful 130yd shot.  Too bad the green was 150 yds away.  His ball landed softly into the water.  Doc
was next.  He hit a laser that more than cleared the water, but drifted far left of the green leaving a difficult chip
downhill.  Chuck Dogg steps to the tee knowing that all he needs to do is hit the green and two putt for a par to win.
Chuck Dogg hits a high-arching 7-iron which landed seven feet from the cup, hopped up then spinned back to within
four feet, as the crowd roared.

But it was not over yet.  Doc's chip shot came to rest on the fringe, leaving him a 12 footer for par.  Making this could
make Chuck Dogg a little shaky while standing over his birdie putt.  Doc lines up his putt, strokes it perfectly heading
directly on his chosen line.  His putt......lips out.  Chuck Dogg then drains his birdie putt to win the 2010 Chili Dip Open.

GET A HANDICAP
Many golfers in our field of 42 played
in the Chili-Dip Open without a certified
USGA handicap.  So therefore, I had to
assess their game and provide them
with what I thought would be a fair
handicap based upon what I've seen.
If you play golf YOU SHOULD HAVE A
HANDICAP.  Many people questioned
my handicap, when they saw me put
up that 79 on they ass, but my
handicap can't be questioned cuz I put
in ALL MY SCORES.  I pay $10 per
year for my handicap service.  I am on
myscorecard.com.  7 or 8 of us who
played in the Chili-Dip Open belong to
the same club from the website.  You
can join our club as well.  Being a part
of our club will give you access to all
the courses you play as well as a
legitimate handicap that can be seen
by everyone.  You can visit our
clubhouse right now and see all of our
members handicaps, courses they've
played, and scores for those courses.
