Comments: The best value for your money anywhere in the Chicago area. If I remember correctly, it is only about $30 for 18 holes of golf with a cart on the championship course. Bon Vivant has two 18 hole golf courses. The Championship Course ain't no punk. There is water and OB, and if that don't kill you, then the distance and the trees will. If you play this course from the tees, the par 4's will seem like par 5's. You must be straight to be able to score here. Slicers beware you will be in the trees, and have to punch out on your second shot, and still be 200 yards away from the green. Fairway bunkers, and greenside bunkers also await you. Most greens are huge. They are not overly difficult which does give you a break on the course. There are many memorable holes on this course, but three that immediately come to mind are 16, 17, and 18. Sixteen is a par three with water on the right and a big hill on the left. Many a slice has found water. Seventeen is a long par 4 with water on the left and bunkers on the right. Big hitters will usually carry some of the water to try to get a shot at the green in two. But if they dont make it, your dropping a long way away from the hole. Then your second shot is to an elevated green that has to be about 60 yards long, and two-tiered. Par on this hole is a great score. Eighteen is a par 5 with water on both sides of the fairway. From the tips it is 590 yards. If you hit a good tee shot, you have to hit a good second shot because if you don't, then the trees will be waiting for you. The North Course is much easier. It is shorter and the trees are much smaller. I played this course about three times in the past two years, and I have always done well, because it is much more spacious and forgiving of errant tee shots. I recommend playing this course over the championship course if you are a beginning golfer. The only negative that I can place on this course is the drive. Make sure you have a DJ Chuck Dog CD in the CD Player for this drive, about an hour from Chicago. Easily. The pace of play is always good at Bon Vivant. A must play as far as I am concerned.
