HANG AROUND
The 2010 Chili Dip Open ended in dramatic fashion as Chuck Dogg hit a seven iron from 150 yards away to within
4 feet to win.  We would like everyone to share in the fun.  In addition, with 68 golfers this year, it is likely
that a playoff will be needed to determine the winner.  If you must leave early and are needed in playoff, your
score will be disqualified and any prize money due to you will be forfeited.

BELOW ARE THE TOURNAMENT RULES IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THIS IN ITS
ENTIRETY.  THE RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!!!!!

  1. All players should check in with the starter (Chuck Dogg, Eric Leaner, or Garlande Gant) 15 minutes prior
to their starting time. If a player arrives at the first tee too late to tee off with the group he is
assigned to on the official starting sheet, he shall be assessed a two stroke penalty. The penalty will be
assessed on the score for the first hole.
  2. The Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association prevail in the 2011 Chili Dip Open.  . Other special
Chili Dip Open rules governing tournament play, if any, will be discussed posted at the first tee of each.
  3. Anyone who is observed breaking USGA rule should be notified immediately of the infraction by whoever
observes the infraction. Any disagreement should be brought to the attention of the Tournament Director
before any scores are attested. If there is disagreement, then a provisional ball should also be played and
a decision will be made by the Tournament Director.  In other words, if you disagree with the findings of
your foursome, then play two balls on the hole.  One the way you think it should be and one the way the
    others think it should be.
  4. Penalties will be assessed by Tournament Directors for slow play in accordance with guidelines
established by the Chili Dip Open Board of Directors.  The Pace of Play Rule is: If a group finishes 20-29
minutes behind the group in front of them, a  1 Stroke Penalty  will be assessed.  30 minutes or more
behind the group in front of them, then a  2 Stoke Penalty.  Will be assessed to the each member of the
group.  Please note this rule is based on the "group," it is not acceptable for the first player of a group to
hole out on the last hole and run into the club house. The "group" has not finished until the last player holes
out on the last hole.  Basically, stay close to the group in front of you.   You should be able to see them
ahead of you on each hole.
  5. We are NOT using drop areas.
If a ball is in a water hazard or if it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found is in a
water hazard (whether the ball lies in water or not), the player may under penalty of one stroke:
      a. Play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5),
    or
      b. Drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the
margin of the water hazard directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no
limit to how far behind the water hazard the ball may be dropped; or
      c. As additional options available only if the ball last crossed the margin of a lateral water hazard, drop a
ball outside the water hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than (i) the point where
the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard or (ii) a point on the opposite margin of the
water hazard equidistant from the hole.

When hitting a provisional ball, be sure to identify the ball before you hit it.  EX:  My first ball was a Top
Flite 6, this one is a Pinnacle 3.
